Dr Maxwell Addo

Dr Maxwell Addo is responsible for the QMUL Advance HE Teaching Recognition
Programmes (TRP) - Advance HE Fellowships (D1-D4), NTFS, CATE, and QMUL
SEED Awards - and focuses on strategic continuing professional development and
the creation of communities of practice in teaching and learning across the
university.
As well as providing direct expert support and guidance to Advance HE Fellowship
applicants (D1-D4) including the delivery of workshops, drop-in sessions, writing
retreats and provision of mixed mode resources and toolkits for CPD, he oversees
the development of the QMUL Higher Education Academy (HEA) Fellowships
Mentoring and Reviewer (Assessor) programmes and manages the teaching
recognition panels.
Max also contributes to teaching on the QMUL Taught Programmes including
workshop delivery, Assessments of coursework, and Observation of Teaching.
Fostering widening participation through strategic educational development projects,
his current research domain is reflective practice in dental education.
Before coming to Queen Mary, Max was Clinical Teacher in Paediatric Dentistry in
Kings College London having held various research positions in the University
College London and the Royal College of Surgeons of England. As education
developer, Max provides strategic, developmental, practical, project and consultancy
support for the development and enhancement of learning and teaching.
